HOLY COMMUNION

We are very happy to announce that we have returned to receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion at the communion rail at the front of the church. Those receiving may kneel or stand, and will receive from a communion assistant or the pastor a wafer dispensed from a touch free device to your outstretched palm, followed by individual cups of wine (or grape juice in center of tray) also offered by communion assistants.  As always, if you are unable to come to the rail, please notify an usher and the pastor will bring the sacrament to you in your seat.

 EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Bible Study opportunities continue. Remember to use your Prayer Journals!

  • Join us for Pastor Wayne’s Bible Study in the ARK on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM

Dates to Remember

  • All are invited to participate in our “Vitality Survey” on June 5 at both worship services, or, at the church office June 6-10 from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM. This survey is open members and friends of the congregation who regularly attend and support the ministries of Lutheran Church By The Lake. The surveys will be analyzed by professionals at Baylor University and the collective results will help us to create a profile of LCBTL to be made available to pastoral candidates considering a relationship with our congregation.

  • On July 24th, following the 10:30 worship service, all are invited to a congregational meal (details to come soon!) Bishop Aebischer and Pastor Rick Carter, Assistant to the Bishop, will present the results of our survey and help us better understand our strengths and weaknesses as we prepare for a new pastor.

INTERIM PASTOR

We welcome Pastor Wayne Young to Lutheran Church By The Lake beginning March 20, 2022. Pastor Young will serve this congregation during the period of reflection and evaluation as we seek to begin the call process resulting in the arrival of a permanent pastor.
